£26 are enough to mitigate punishment
July 5, 2026Juvenile sexual offenses against girls are on the rise in the UK.
According to a recent local media outlet, three trials were held over such cases. Surprisingly, however, all the juvenile offenders on trial escaped the punishment of reformation by paying a fine of 26 pounds each.
The sum is smaller than the one for illegal parking in the country.
The cases are causing a public furore.
A victim of such a case said with indignation that such measures would not serve as a warning to others but let boys think that they can do whatever they want.
Expressing concern over the fact that punishment of juvenile offenders is getting more lenient and over the adverse effect of the tendency on the future rate of report, the chief of an organization assisting victims noted that survivors from the relevant cases are in despair.
The chief of another organization asserted that public confidence and trust in the legal system that fails to protect girls are declining and that sexual assaults on teenage girls by teenage boys should not be a socially accepted norm.
A personage who recently resigned from a government position of vice-minister for child protection and violence against women said that the current punitive guidelines fail to reflect a tendency towards the growing number of juvenile sexual assaults, strongly demanding the reexamination of the guidelines.
The reality clearly reveals the seriousness of increasing juvenile sexual offences and a blind spot of the relevant law prioritizing the “human rights” of offenders.
The UK has often interfered in the internal affairs of other countries, clamouring about “law”, “civilization” and “human rights”.
However, the reality of the situation demands the British government put its energy into settling its own affairs, rather than putting its nose into others’ affairs.
