After receiving the birthday spread amid the congratulations of officials of the Hyongjesan District Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and her family, relatives and neighbours, the centenarian expressed her gratitude to the respected Marshal
Jo had to live in slavery with the sorrow of a stateless nation before the liberation of Korea. She began to lead a genuine life after the country’s liberation.
So, during the Fatherland Liberation War, she took the lead in the struggle for increased grain production. In the postwar period, too, she devoted her patriotic efforts to farm fields with a single mind to uphold the country with rice.
She brought up her children as pillars of the countryside. Even after becoming a pensioner, she has voluntarily done good things helpful to the country.
