Middle school for orphans built under paternal love

July 15, 2026

A playground covered with green artificial turf is cosily surrounded by a school building, a gym and dormitories resounding with loud voices of reading and happy laughter of students. This is Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans.

Ten years have passed since it was built.

“We heartily recall the untiring efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who put his heart and soul into building our school into the best home of happiness for parentless children in the world, whenever we look up to his image on the photos hanging on the walls in several places of the school,” said Principal Kim Un.

It was his determination and will to become their true father and bring them up into hardcore members and reliable pillars of the country.

So he cared so much about the construction of the school, thinking deeply to consider every line and dot of its layout and picturing in his mind the day when loud voices of reading and singing would ring out from it.

On July 2 2016, he visited the newly-built school and said with satisfaction that it was really spacious, all classrooms were multifunctional and informatized and furnished with various kinds of good-looking and handy school fixtures and the school was well equipped with laboratories and practice rooms where students can consolidate knowledge they learned and theoretical basis.

And he gave instructions on how to improve the quality of education in line with the requirements of the new era and the world trend of educational development, fully supply foodstuffs, school things and daily necessities to the school and promote the work for sharing the successes and experience gained in the education of students and operation of the school between primary and middle schools for orphans across the country and generalizing them.

He spread a blanket and measured its length to see if it fitted the children’s height in a room of the dormitory and acquainted himself with the daily supply of foods for students before stressing the need to improve hygienic management at the mess hall.

After looking round each place of the school, he said with great satisfaction that as the parentless children were provided with an excellent school, he was so pleased that he felt as if he had picked a star from the sky and another of his wishes to make them grow up with nothing to envy in the world was fulfilled.

Several days later, the children moved into the new school and then were provided with various kinds of foodstuffs sent by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Over the past ten years many students have grown up into reliable pillars and competent talents of the country, singing at the top of their voices that their father is Marshal Kim Jong Un and their home is the embrace of the Workers’ Party of Korea, at the home of happiness built under his paternal care.
