The State Academy of Sciences has solved urgent technical problems arising in enhancing the independence and modernization level of the national economy, ensuring the qualitative growth of production and improving the material and cultural life of the people.

The Modernization Institute of the State Academy of Sciences has newly developed a core technology of industrial information system and steadily updated it. The researchers of the institute put tens of kinds of industrial information devices on a Juche basis, opening up a prospect for building a complete physical structure of industrial information system with domestic efforts and technology. In particular, they raised the indices related to the reliability and safety of industrial information devices to the world standards.

The Korean-style industrial information system development environment “Mirae 102” 4.0, which was highly appreciated at the exhibition of sci-tech achievements in different sectors of the national economy-2025, has been introduced into many units of various sectors of the national economy to display its advantages.

The institute also established an intelligent integrated production system at the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm, thus making a positive contribution to putting the nutrition management of vegetables and the operation of greenhouses on a scientific and IT basis.

Such sci-tech findings presented by the institute as the integrated production system of the Kumsong Tractor Factory, automatic agrochemical sprayer and corona discharge air cleaning device were highly appreciated at the 39th National Festival of Science and Technology, the farm machines exhibition “Development of Farm Machines-2025” and other festivals and exhibitions.

The Laser Institute developed a laser levelling machine for ensuring the horizontality of plots in the dry harrowing of paddy fields in a Korean way on the basis of the study and analysis of the global development trend. The machine has been introduced into several farms across the country to contribute to increasing grain output by 1.7 tons per hectare while saving a lot of labour, time and fuel.

The Control Machine Institute, Paper Technology Institute, Mechanical Engineering Institute and others have made achievements in sci-tech research conducive to implementing the regional development policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea, including the solution of technical problems arising in modernizing the equipment of the newly-built regional-industry factories.

The State Academy of Sciences has newly developed the technologies for producing reduced iron and synthetic fuel oil based on coal gasification, making a positive contribution to easing the shortages of steel materials and fuel oil by relying on locally available technologies and resources.
