Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, visited the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex to learn about production and management. 

At the complex, he called on its officials and workers to make redoubled efforts to attain the iron production target set by the Ninth Congress of the WPK without fail, always keeping in mind the importance of the position and duty of the complex in carrying out the new long-term plan.

Going round the blast furnace, steel and other workshops, he called for increasing the number of operating days of equipment and steadily exploring and employing advanced and rational methods of iron production.

He urged the officials to organize production and manage the complex well with an innovative insight and the power of tenacious execution, improve the operating efficiency of equipment, effectively push ahead with the scientific and technological perfection of production processes as planned and thus lay a firm foundation for increased iron and steel production.

Earlier, at the Pyongyang Pharmaceutical Factory, Premier Pak discussed the ways for it to fully perform its mission and role as the centre and model of the country's pharmaceutical industry.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issues of ensuring that the relevant sectors and units supply equipment and raw and other materials necessary for iron and steel production in a responsible manner, producing larger quantities of efficacious medicines and promoting the convenience of employees in life, and took the relevant measures.

Meanwhile, the Premier visited the Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory to learn about the production of medical appliances.
