Canada decries US’ imposition of tariff
July 28, 2026The Canadian prime minister in a statement on July 20 condemned the US for imposing tariffs on goods of his country.
As regards the fact that the US administration announced new imposition of a 50% tariff on some Canadian goods, he branded it as a direct violation of the trade agreement between Canada, the US and Mexico and a unilateral act.
He said that trade disputes are causing a rise in the living expenses of the US citizens in particular.
That day the US ruler said that Canada is slapping tariffs on US cars and that Canada’s tariff policy has put US enterprises in an unfavourable situation as compared with those of other countries.
