Women make a positive contribution to the building of a prosperous country with equal status and rights with men in the DPRK.

Among them are those who volunteer for the major sectors of socialist construction and vigorously conduct various movements including the silkworm raising movement and movement for creating forests of socialist patriotism.

Many others include labour innovators who keep creating miracles and innovations at their worksites, scientists and athletes who exalt the honour of the country, and educators and medical workers who devote themselves to the education of the rising generation and the promotion of the people’s health.

There are also women who won the title of Labour Hero and the Communist Mother Honour Prize for giving birth to many children and bringing them up to be pillars of the revolution, aware of the duty they assumed for their families and society.

The Korean women inspire their children to steadfastly carry forward the traditions of patriotism and the revolution while adding beauty and freshness to their families and society with their noble view of life and sincere maternal affection. People hold the women in respect and affection, calling them revolutionaries.
