Young vanguard holds oath-taking meeting and march of succession
July 30, 2026An oath-taking meeting of the young vanguard was held before the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on July 28 to carry forward the soul of the victorious wartime generation.
Present there were Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, war veterans, officials of the youth league, commanding officers and members of the High-Speed Youth Shock Brigade Management Bureau and the August 28 Youth Shock Brigade Management Bureau, students of Mangyongdae and Chilgol revolutionary schools and other youth and students in Pyongyang.
Paek Un Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, said in his report at the meeting that the V-Day of July 27 is the historic holiday when the DPRK people defeated the aggressors to protect the dignity and sovereignty of their country and which provided the ideological and spiritual wealth to be firmly carried forward by the rising generations.
He called upon all the participants to make redoubled efforts for the immortal honour of the victor nation and the future of the beloved motherland.
War veteran Ri Thae Jin handed the national flag of the DPRK over to young people, requesting the younger generation to carry forward the tradition of victory of heroic Korea, remaining faithful to the leadership of the respected
Read out at the meeting was a resolution expressing the will of the young vanguard.
All the participants vowed to build a prosperous and powerful socialist nation on this land by inheriting the revolutionary spirit of the defenders of the country in the 1950s.
Amid the playing of song "Honour to Victors of the Great Years", a march of succession of the young vanguard to carry forward the soul of the victorious wartime generation started, preceded by the national flag of the DPRK.
The marchers with burning torches in their hands marched along a street of the capital city, recollecting the spiritual world of the victorious wartime generation.
