Environmental management is a general term for activities to coordinate environment and goals of economic development. In our country the relevant sectors and units conducted detailed surveys of their environment and, on this basis, have set proper environmental development goals for implementing the state policy on environmental protection and worked out realistic and scientific plans for managing environment in a prospective way.

They correctly reflect the contents of the work for environmental protection in their long-term plans for the development of their sectors and regions and those for the business development of factories and enterprises. And the relevant immediate plans have been drawn and implemented.

And the national economic plans include environmental issues as important ones from the planning stage, and economic work and environmental protection are organically combined to make all units attach importance to the protection of ecological environment and take positive measures in the whole course of their management activities.

Efforts are also channelled into putting environmental management on a scientific basis.

The relevant sectors and units built up databases to regularly record changes in environment and compare data with the past one for analysis in order to scientifically elucidate the cause of environmental damage and take timely measures.

In particular, they manage the surrounding environment in a scientific, cultured and sanitary way while taking sci-tech measures to prevent environmental pollution in production and construction by securing analytical and measuring means for measuring environmental pollution. And while striving to widely disseminate advanced sci-tech achievements, they actively introduce them into their own environmental management.
