The innovative spirit of creation displayed by the designers of the State General Design Bureau, Paektusan Institute of Architecture and Pyongyang Urban Planning Institute and lecturers and researchers of Pyongyang University of Architecture resulted in the creation of designs of structures of high practical utility which suit the aesthetic and emotional needs of the Korean people.

The building materials industry has acquired firmer material and technical foundations. Finishing materials have got varied in kind, shape and colour, and new buildings have been admirably decorated with the finishing materials made with local resources and technology.

The advanced culture of Pyongyang, an outcome of the golden age of capital city construction, is spreading across the country.

While the Rungna People’s Recreation Ground, Munsu Water Park, Chongnyu People’s Open-air Ice Rink, Mirim Riding Club, Hwasong Taedonggang Beer House and other cultural and leisure facilities came into existence in different parts of the capital, entities for enjoying new, pleasant life appeared one after another in other parts of the country, thus providing the people with happier and more cultured living environment.

The construction campaign is going on dynamically for laying firmer foundations of national strength, leading the people to a higher level of civilization and providing them with greater wellbeing.
