DPRK-Russia friendship develops decades after decades

The bilateral declaration was a historic statement which officially affirmed to the international community the will and stand of both sides to develop the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations in a comprehensive way in conformity with the common aspirations and interests of the peoples of the two countries and as required by the new century and to positively promote the common cause of mankind for ensuring peace and stability in Asia and the rest of the world and building a new just world.
In the declaration, the two countries committed themselves to supporting and closely cooperating with each other for peace, stability and development in the new century and solemnly declared to the world that they, through such endeavours, would make joint efforts for global independence and peace.
The adoption and publication of the Moscow Declaration in 2001 in the wake of the adoption of the DPRK-Russia joint declaration in Pyongyang in 2000 opened up bright prospects for strengthening and developing the bilateral friendly and cooperative relations in a many-sided way on the principle of equality, mutual benefits and noninterference in each other's internal affairs.
True to the declaration, the two countries opposed domination and hegemony in the international arena, supported and cooperated with each other in the efforts to establish a just new world structure and constantly strove to develop the bilateral relations on the principle of equality, mutual respect, noninterference in each other's internal affairs and mutual benefits.
The bilateral relationship has greeted a new heyday in recent years.
In particular, June 19 2024 witnessed the conclusion of the Treaty on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the DPRK and the Russian Federation. The strong ties based on the treaty have served as a powerful security apparatus for promoting the well-being of the peoples of the two countries, easing the regional situation and guaranteeing international strategic stability and as a powerful driving force for accelerating the establishment of the order of an independent and righteous multipolar world free from domination, subordination and hegemony.
High-level visits have been revitalized between the two countries while exchanges and cooperation have been conducted positively in different fields. The two countries are writing a new history of justice and co-prosperity while strongly supporting and cooperating with each other in all fields of politics, the economy and culture.
It is an aspiration of the peoples of the two countries to constantly consolidate and develop the bilateral ties, which is an important contribution to the defence of sovereignty of the two countries, the promotion of their peoples’ welfare and the ensuring of global independence and peace.
