Chinese Ministry of Commerce censures US for making sanctions racket

August 7, 2026

A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce of China criticized the US for making a sanctions racket against Chinese businesses at a press conference on August 1.

The US Department of Homeland Security announced the inclusion of over 40 Chinese businesses in a sanctions list. In this regard, he said that the US’ relevant sanctions are groundless and denounced it as a typical economic blackmail that the US administration recklessly imposes unilateral sanctions on Chinese businesses on the pretext of “human rights” and “forced labour” and based on its domestic legislation.

He also condemned the US’ behaviour as a serious violation of the legal rights and interests of the relevant Chinese businesses.

China strongly demands that the US stop fabricating the agenda item of “forced labour” and putting groundless pressure on Chinese businesses, he stressed.
