The National Symphony Orchestra, founded as the first orchestra in new Korea, marked its 80th founding anniversary with high pride. The orchestra opened up a new phase of Juche-oriented symphony, singing of our Party, country and people with its high musical ability and through proactive and enterprising creative activities.

Since the declaration of its birth with the playing of "Song of General Kim Il Sung", an immortal revolutionary hymn, the orchestra has enriched the treasure house of Juche-oriented musical art by representing with monumental orchestral music, symphonic suites and symphonic medleys the ideology and will of all the people advancing towards civilization and prosperity and the strong pulse of the times. Its excellent history and tradition and successes of artistic creation are a precious treasure of our state and a source of great pride of our Party and people.

A concert was given at the Moranbong Theatre on August 8 to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the National Symphony Orchestra, an art institution of national value embodying the development of Juche-oriented music.

Among the audience were senior Party and government officials and officials, creative workers and artistes in the field of culture and arts.

The concert began with orchestral prelude for the piano "Glory to the Workers' Party of Korea". Put on the stage were famous songs of the times, songs praising the Workers' Party and songs about the motherland which gave great impetus to the victorious advance of socialist Korea.

All the art pieces made the audience recollect the proud history of the orchestra, which has elevated noble patriotism and promoted the spiritual and cultural growth while sharing its history with the struggle of the people who have brought great social changes under the leadership of the Party. They also aroused the admiration of the audience for mature performance.

The orchestra "A medley of world famous songs" decorated the end of the concert with splendour.

The concert, representing a profound musical world with the solemn and unique mixed orchestra of Korean style, showed the ardent aspiration and creative world of creative workers and artistes who will steadily write the history of honourable development of Juche-oriented symphony through continuous pioneering and advance by remaining invariably faithful to the real intention and original mission of its founding despite the passage of time.

The audience congratulated the performers on their successful performance, presenting bouquets to them.

The concert, held to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the National Symphony Orchestra, left a deep impression on the audience with profound ideological and artistic qualities and solemn sound of the "Socialist Symphony".
