Fishery units across the country have made successes by further improving the scientific level of offshore farming.

In order to put fish farming and aquaculture on a new scientific basis and raise their productivity so as to supply a larger quantity of fish and aquacultural plants to the people, officials of the Ministry of Fisheries and relevant units made sure that aquacultural methods were steadily improved while positively generalizing the successes achieved in the efforts to increase the production of offshore aquacultural products.

Officials and employees of the Pupho Offshore Farm have increased production while steadily pushing ahead with the improvement of the scientific level of aquaculture.

The farm has rationally set departure times for ships and increased the operation rate of tugboats, thereby gathering hundreds of tons of kelp every day.

Aquaculturists of the farm have introduced advanced cultivation methods to suit the temperature of seawater and the growth of aquacultural plants to grow them healthily and gathered them in time to carry out daily assignments without fail.

Officials and employees of the Ongjin Offshore Farm have also worked hard to increase production out of the desire to enrich the dietary life of the people with more aquatic products.

The farm has revitalized production by manuring and cultivating kelp in a technological way according to its growth condition and in keeping with the area of farming grounds.

The Kumipho Fishery Station has made innovations in the production of seaweed through scientific manuring and cultivation.

With the firm viewpoint that scientific farming is also essential in the sea, the workers and technicians of the station are ensuring over two rounds of kelp harvest a day while carrying out the work of each process according to the technical regulations and on the basis of advanced science and technology.
