Patriotism is the might for opening a new era of overall national prosperity in the DPRK.

The Workers’ Party of Korea regards the people as the cornerstone of the existence of the state and has powerfully led the revolution and construction with the might of patriotism displayed by the people as the motive force for the construction of a powerful country.

In his speech in celebration of the New Year 2026, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un said, “We entered the year 2025 with a heavy heart as we were confronted with huge tasks; what we believed in was nothing but our people’s patriotism and loyalty, and they were the real driving force that propelled our unprecedented struggle throughout the year.” And he called for uniting more firmly on the strength of patriotism and advancing more vigorously and courageously towards the new future to be indicated by the Ninth Congress of the Party.

He has instilled patriotism into the people, regarding the strength of all the people firmly united by dint of patriotism as the great motive force for the comprehensive development of socialism and as the driving force for turning the country into the most dignified and powerful country in the world.

At the Eighth Congress of the WPK, the General Secretary already emphasized the need to turn their faith in Korean-style socialism and love for and trust in things of their own into an all-people ideological sentiment.

At the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee held in December 2022, too, he stressed the need to actively organize and properly lead the socialist patriotic movement, the revolutionary mass movement, which is the powerful driving force for the prosperity and development of the state and noted that primary attention should be paid to firmly adhering to and inheriting the tradition of loyalty peculiar to the Korean revolution and the tradition of patriotism peculiar to our state and that the revolution should be advanced by dint of loyalty and patriotism.

In November 2023 he said that we should infuse all people with patriotism and unite them on the strength of patriotism, and that he constantly maintains the slogan “Unite on the strength of patriotism!”

The people, who are out to implement the decisions of the Ninth WPK Congress after the eighth term of the Party Central Committee, have continuously achieved miraculous successes in all sectors, regions and units by vigorously conducting the socialist patriotic movement, the revolutionary mass movement. This has produced many meritorious persons of socialist patriotism, socialist patriotic young people, patriotic farmers, patriotic women and families of patriots.

Now the coal mining villages across the country are changing for the better by dint of the might of the people who live with patriotic fervour and are united on the strength of patriotism, after the new era of the tremendous changes in the capital city and regional development and the new era of the rural revolution have been ushered in.
