Zimbabwean President calls for striving for national prosperity
August 15, 2026The Zimbabwean President called on all the citizens of his country to strive for the building of a modern and prosperous country as he addressed an event on August 10.
Referring to the need to learn the valour, fortitude and patriotism of the fighters who fell while fighting for the independence of the country, he said freedom, independence and sovereignty are not defended of their own accord, but can be defended by the awareness and responsible efforts of everyone.
The present generation has responsibility for preserving the heritage handed down by the former generations for posterity, he said, stressing that the government is spurring economic growth and the creation of jobs by switching from the export of raw materials to the development of processing and manufacturing industries and industrialization in order to consolidate the gains of the liberation struggle.
