China expresses support for cause of Palestine
August 17, 2026The Chinese permanent representative to the United Nations expressed the stand of his country to support the cause of Palestine at an emergency open session of the UN Security Council on the Palestine-Israel issue on August 11.
China expresses deep concern over the recently worsening situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, he said, calling on the international community to make all efforts to check conflict and violence, save innocent lives and defend fairness and justice.
He noted that the main cause of the rapidly worsening situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the daily aggravated suffering of the Palestinian people lies in that the basic principles of international law have not been upheld and the Palestinian people’s rights to existence and development have long been neglected.
The “two-state solution” is the only feasible one to the Palestinian issue which is officially recognized by the international community, he said, adding that China will as ever support Palestine’s just cause for gaining the nation’s legitimate rights.
