Many working people continue to visit the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area, a scenic spot on the east coast of Korea now in the sea bathing season.

Everyplace of the tourist area is crowded with tourists, including those looking round the coastal tourist town, taking photos in succession, aboard trams and battery cars, those heading to the beach as soon as they take off their travelling attire and youth and schoolchildren enjoying all sorts of amusement games at amusement facilities.

Tourists relish the true taste of tourism at hotels of all styles and forms, sea bathing service facilities equipped with all conditions and diverse sports, amusement, commercial and public catering facilities.

Most popular with tourists are sea bathing, marine sports and marine sightseeing.

A lot of tourists enjoy themselves bathing in the sea at the bathing zone with a vast stretch of white beach licked by rolling blue waves and with an accommodation capacity of tens of thousands.

Young men surf waves to boast their valour and many other people have a pleasant time riding storm boats, water bicycles and floating amusement facilities.

“Seeing people enjoying themselves at the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area on TV, I wanted to come here as soon as possible. Now here at the coastal tourist area I’ve found it as beautiful as a picture. Everything is nice and satisfactory, and I’ve almost forgotten the passage of time. I’m reluctant to leave here,” said Cha Kum Hyok, a worker of the Pyongyang General Electric Cable Factory 326.

The Myongsasimni Water Park is always crowded with tourists.

They fully experience delight and thrills enjoying sleigh-type and bowl-shaped rapid water slides, water skiing and other kinds of apparatuses in ten-odd pools overflowing with clear water.

A resident from Kaephung District, Kaesong Municipality, said with delight that he enjoys a new civilization to his heart’s content together with his family at the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area now after enjoying himself at the leisure complex built in their locality under the care of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

At the Kalma Arirang Gym with an e-sports room, amusement room for children, sports hall and billiard room, many of the tourists, including children, lose track of time playing games with shooting and VR experience game apparatuses, bowling for children, archery and horse racing.

The Kalma Mokran Kwangmyong Recreation Centre, Myongsasimni Indoor Wading Pool and Myongsasimni Fitness Centre, too, resound with happy laughter of tourists.

When darkness sets in, the tourist area turns into a land of mystery with the effect of various light illuminations.

Some of the tourists stroll along the brightly-lit promenade taking photos of the spectacular nocturnal view until late at night, and the others are reluctant to sleep singing songs in their lodgings. This adds to the charming features of the tourist town on the Kalma peninsula at night.
