The DPRK embassy in Moscow hosted a reception on August 14 on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Present there at invitation were Andrei Beloussov, minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Alexandr Kozlov, minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, and other Russian personages of related government departments including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology.

Ambassador Sin Hong Chol and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Moscow attended the reception.

Speeches were made there.

The DPRK ambassador highly praised President Kim Il Sung as a hero for all ages, noting that he founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army and defeated the Japanese imperialists who styled themselves "leader" of Asia, thus achieving the great historic cause of Korea’s liberation.

All the victories and changes achieved in the Korean revolution and construction, the prospering socialist country and the great happiness the Korean people are enjoying are associated with the undying exploits performed for national liberation by the peerlessly great man who wrote the first page of the heroic anti-Japanese resistance history by founding the revolutionary armed forces of Juche, he stressed.

The matchless self-sacrificing spirit and feats of the officers and men of the Red Army are also vividly recorded in the great history of Korea’s liberation which brought about a radical turn in carving out the destiny of the Korean people, he said, adding that the militant friendship and solidarity forged and built in the war of resistance to annihilate the common enemy serve as the cornerstone that has developed the DPRK-Russia friendly and cooperative relations into the most solid comradely relations and comprehensive strategic partnership as they are now.

The Russian defense minister expressed congratulations on the 81st anniversary of Korea's liberation and said:

The working people of Korea drove the Japanese aggressors out of their homeland by displaying their tenacity, bravery and indomitable will under the leadership of Comrade Kim Il Sung.

The victory won by the Korean people in their independence struggle made a great contribution to the end of the Second World War.

The common victory we won in the battlefield laid a solid foundation for the strategic partnership between the two countries.

An alliance and fraternal relations were established between Russia and the DPRK by President Putin and President of the State Affairs Kim Jong Un.

He praised the bravery and self-sacrificing spirit displayed by the Korean soldiers in the battle to liberate Kursk Region from the neo-Nazi forces of the Kiev regime and expressed belief that the Russia-DPRK alliance would further consolidate the glorious tradition of friendship, mutual assistance and militant friendship.

The minister of Natural Resources and Ecology said:

The DPRK's firm support for the special military operations against Ukraine has clearly proved that the historical roots of the relations between the two countries are being inherited and clearly demonstrated our common view of respecting the sovereignty of the countries and their national interests.

This is also a sincere expression of fraternal relations.

The trustworthy dialogue between the leaders of the two countries confirmed the aspiration of Russia and the DPRK to strengthen their relations and a series of significant events of this year fully reflect our stand on the development of the relations.

The participants in the reception drank a toast to the health of Comrade Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, the health of Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and the strengthening and development of the traditional DPRK-Russia friendly and cooperative relations.
