A “large socialist family” is a favourite phrase used by the Korean people.

In the DPRK, the noble virtue and trait of helping and leading one another forward is a national trait.

Every member of society takes it as their moral obligation to respect war veterans and honoured disabled soldiers and the beautiful human relations and traits blossom with each passing day as people help and care for their friends and neighbours and show affection and love for other people, regarding others’ suffering as their own.

When hearing news about people moving into new houses, everyone is pleased as if they have been provided with new houses. And there are many people who unhesitatingly donate their blood and flesh for the resuscitation of patients in the jaws of death and take warm care of them with familial affection.

That is why the people in the DPRK affectionately call their society a “large socialist family”.
