A demonstration took place on August 19 in Tokyo, Japan, to condemn and reject the policy of militarization of the authorities. 

That day, about 15 000 people gathered in front of the office building of the Diet and protested against such dangerous moves of the Takaichi government as intensifying military buildup with a distorted view on the history of aggression.

Saying that the present authorities’ policies have a strong warlike tendency, the demonstrators censured Takaichi for taking an ambivalent attitude even to the “three non-nuclear principles” without reflecting on the past wars of aggression at all.

Expressing serious concern about the fact that now even ordinary companies direct investment to the production of weapons including drone, they shouted slogans “Protect the pacifist constitution” and “Takaichi, step down immediately”.
