The childcare department of the Okryu Children’s Hospital has a triplets’ check-up register.

The register contains the data on the health conditions, nutrition and treatment of all triplets across the country from their birth to their adulthood, including height and weight.

According to Paek Hyang Ok, head of the department, the medical teams of paediatricians of hospitals at all levels give medical check-ups to the preschool triplets four times a year and those of primary and junior and senior middle schools two times a year and the screening results are synthesized and recorded in detail in the register.

The department is completely familiar with the health indexes of all triplets across the country and if anything happens in their growth and health, they are immediately committed to the provincial paediatrics hospitals or the Okryu Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Paek Hyang Ok said that each provincial paediatrics hospital has a check-up team for triplets.

The Okryu Children’s Hospital has a similar team, which not only gives regular check-ups but also is always ready to immediately act if any problem arises among the triplets. Most recently, members of the childcare department of the hospital did check-ups for those of the Pyongyang Baby Home together with the medical workers of the check-up team.

Pak Song Mi, a woman living in Moranbong District, Pyongyang, visited the baby home to see her triplet daughters. Looking at the babies who grew taller and stronger than before, she said that she merely gave birth to the triplets but the country brings them up and that her daughters get infinite benefits from the state. 

In the country triplets are all born at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and nurtured by its medical workers until they weigh over four kilograms. Afterwards they grow at the baby homes built in different parts of the country at state expense until they get four years old.

Paek Hyang Ok said that the health of all triplets is very good now, adding that the check-up register of triplets is as good as the register of the loving care and benefit they receive from the state.
