Russian party leader sets forth major party tasks
August 27, 2026Dmitri Medvedev, president of the United Russia Party of Russia, set forth major tasks of the party in his speech made at the party congress on August 22.
Today, Russia is withstanding the strong pressure from outside on the strength of unity and advancing toward victory in the special military operations, he said, noting that Ukraine has lost 20 percent of its territory and that he is sure that more of its territory will revert to Russia.
The priority tasks to be carried out by the party are those related to population, talents, regional development, the economy, technology, the preservation of Russia’s unique values and culture and the security of the country, he noted, saying that the party will continue to pay close attention to the education of youth.
He mentioned that the priority tasks of the people’s programme adopted at the party congress include the provision of convenient living conditions and urban environment, comprehensive rural development and economic issues.
