Senior officials of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK commemorated Youth Day on August 28 together with young people across the country amid great joy and optimism of the young vanguard greeting the revolutionary holiday of the Korean youth in the course of the struggle for a new phase of transformation.

Pak Thae Song and Jo Yong Won, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, Sin Yong Il, Ju Chang Il, Jo Chun Ryong, An Kum Chol, Kim Jong Gwan, Kim Sung Du, Kim Tok Hun and other senior officials of the Party and the government visited the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex, the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal-mining Complex, Kim Il Sung University, the Pyongyang Thermal Power Station, the Sangwon Cement Complex, the Chollima Steel Complex, the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex, the State Academy of Sciences, the Sunchon Cement Complex and other factories, enterprises, coal mines and universities to congratulate young people on their holiday.

They met and encouraged the young people who are achieving innovative successes at production sites, grand construction sites, deep underground pits, scientific research bases and campuses while conducting dynamic efforts to successfully carry out the tasks for the first year of the new five-year plan for national economic development set forth at the Ninth Congress of the WPK.

Being told about the labour achievements and good deeds of the young paragons of virtue, they asked all the young people to continue to perform miracles and feats at their revolutionary posts, cherishing deep in their minds the great love and trust of the Party.

The senior officials spent the holiday with the young people, sharing joy in a festive atmosphere.
