SCO member nations hold summit meeting
September 6, 2026A summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member nations took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on September 1.
The meeting brought together heads of state and government of SCO member nations and other countries and delegates of international organizations.
At the meeting the issues of strengthening cooperation and unity in different fields including those of politics, security, the economy and humanitarianism were discussed and opinions exchanged on the pressing international and regional issues.
The participants in the meeting asserted that the SCO should enhance its influence to cope with the present complicated international situation and play a bigger role for peace, stability and prosperity of the region and the rest of the world.
At the end of the meeting, the Bishkek declaration was published and 20-odd documents were adopted.
