General Secretary Kim Jong Un’s Revolutionary Activities

All the citizens and families of the DPRK greeted the 78th national day amid ever-soaring patriotic enthusiasm of all the people to make great transformations and strides, true to the revolutionary programme unveiled at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

A national flag-hoisting and oath-taking ceremony took place solemnly at the Pyongyang Assembly Hall on September 9, the 78th founding anniversary of the glorious motherland, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, attended the commemorative event.

Present there were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and other leading cadres of the Party, government and armed forces organs, senior officials of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, the Cabinet, commissions, ministries and national agencies, commanding officers of the Korean People's Army and deputies to the SPA in Pyongyang.

All the participants paid high tribute to the sacred national flag symbolic of the pride and valiant spirit of heroic Korea and its heroic people that have won priceless victories and raised the dignity and honour of the Republic to the acme of the century, bravely following the untrodden path of history with a strong sense of patriotism.

The venue overflowed with an intense desire of the participants to devote all their strength, wisdom and enthusiasm to the glorious and worthwhile struggle for steadily leading the great history of the ever-victorious country to a brilliant future.

Led by the head of state, the participants solemnly pledged before the sacred national flag to devote themselves heart and soul to adding eternal glory to the greatness and beauty of the country by defending the sovereignty of the DPRK and interests of its people, remaining boundlessly sincere in promoting the people's wellbeing and the growth and development of the country as responsible members serving the state and people, thoroughly defending the Constitution of the Republic, strictly observing the legal duties, firmly defending the socialist ideology and the socialist system and remaining faithful to the beloved motherland.

Comrade Kim Jong Un delivered a congratulatory address to all the people on the occasion of National Day.

He extended warm congratulations and thanks to the working people, service personnel and families across the country for their continuous creation, boundless devotion and responsible contribution to the prosperity and development of the country on the occasion of National Day.

His warm congratulations also went to the overseas compatriots' organizations and overseas compatriots that always breathe the same breath and share mind with the homeland, praying for the brilliant journey of the Republic. And he offered special thanks and paid high tribute to the commanding officers and soldiers of the KPA involved in the overseas military operations.

Our ideals are being realized rapidly one after another thanks to patriotism, voluntary service and devoted contributions by all citizens praying for the country's prosperity, and the fighting power of us advancing towards the goal has also been greatly boosted, he said, adding that the national prestige and dignity have been further enhanced year by year, thanks to the arduous struggle of the Korean people, and their spirit to bring earlier a dignified, powerful, peaceful, secure, revolutionary and prosperous era has also soared high.

Saying that as our socialist cause advances further, our ideals and ambitions get higher before our joy and satisfaction get greater, he stated that the reality of the Korean revolution, in which everyone is waging the struggle for tomorrow with higher and more goals than today and vigorously achieving development of the Korean style, is clearly demonstrating the inexhaustible potentials and united strength of the country and the absolute confidence in the future, and this remarkable development is being realized by none other than the resourceful Korean people.

Noting that the minds and efforts of the righteous people loving and supporting the country and serving it with loyalty have become the pillars of irresistible might to powerfully prop up the brilliant today of the country, he said that the extraordinary pride and self-confidence in their great country, fervent patriotism and outstanding talents and strong self-respect of the Korean people make everyone aspire to a more powerful, prosperous and beautiful future of the DPRK. This shared desire unites our country and all its people, constantly increases the national power and instils into them the confidence, courage and inexhaustible creative power for racing against time, he added.

Expressing his will to ensure that the Party and the government do their best to shoulder heavier responsibility and make bigger strides and dynamic advances, he affirmed that only victory and glory are in store for the great, resourceful and brave people and wished all the people and families across the country warm peace, joy and happiness.

The participants were greatly excited by the enthusiastic speech made by Comrade Kim Jong Un who declared the unshakable faith and will to bring earlier a powerful, prosperous and beautiful future of the country with a firm belief in the ardent patriotism, wisdom and inexhaustible creativity of the great, resourceful and brave Korean people.

When Comrade Kim Jong Un finished his speech, all the participants burst into stormy cheers of "Hurrah!"

They hardened their strong will to fulfil their important responsibility and duties, entrusted by the people, with tireless passion and strenuous efforts in the vanguard of the historic sacred cause for the immortal glory of their country and the victory of Korean-style socialism, true to the original idea of the great Comrade Kim Jong Un on building a country based on the people-first principle.
