Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the DPRK, received a message of greeting from Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, on September 9.

The message said:

Respected Comrade,

I extend the warmest congratulations to you on behalf of the Cuban party, government and people on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

We attach great importance to the relations with the DPRK provided by the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung and Supreme Commander Fidel Castro Ruz and based on mutual respect and support.

I reaffirm my firm will to steadily strengthen the close and historic relations of friendship, comradeship, cooperation and solidarity between the two countries in conformity with the wellbeing of the peoples of the two countries and wage an unyielding struggle against imperialism.
