Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Western countries are in a dangerous situation in an interview on September 8.

Saying that the West has never lived honestly and made a good living independently, he noted that it clings to the last possibilities of maintaining its hegemony by resorting to the very dirty means such as sanctions and interference now when it is losing its influence day by day. 

From the historical point of view, the West, especially Europe, is similar to a severely-injured beast and it is in a very dangerous situation, he said, adding that the US’ influence on the global economy and world politics is waning and Europe is losing its status faster. 

The West wants Russia to weaken and be divided in order to seize its resources but it was sadly mistaken, he noted. The British prime minster stated that it would throw in its lot with Ukraine to the last, but a bad end is awaiting Ukraine, he derided. 

Disclosing that though there are many ways to establish peace in Ukraine, each time the Western group prevents Kiev from working for peace, he warned that Russia will attain its goals in the battlefields if the West does not come to a compromise.

As for the European politicians’ assertion that they are ready to fight with Russia, he stressed that if the Europeans dare attack Russia, it will be a fundamentally different war and a “very short war” as well.
