September 15, 2026

A well-regulated national sci-tech talents management system has been established to bring about successes in recent years.

The law on sci-tech talents management was enacted and a strict system and order were set up to realize the unified control and management of sci-tech talents by the state.

On the increase are talents, including best scientists, technicians and inventors, who will contribute greatly to the development of the country’s economy and the improvement of the people’s living standards and shoulder the development of sectors, units and regions.

In the past three years alone the top sci-tech prize and medal in the country were awarded to over 20 projects which contributed to accelerating its prosperity and development and hundreds of officials, scientists and technicians received the certificates of the February 16 Science and Technology Prize.

Scientists of universities and scientific research units, including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and the State Academy of Sciences, presented great scientific research achievements powerfully promoting the development of different sectors of the national economy, thus being selected as best scientists and technicians of the country.

Ministries, national agencies and every province have dynamically pushed the work to put forward those who made a great contribution to the development of their sectors and regions as the best scientists and technicians of the sectors and regions, thereby adding vitality to making all the people well-versed in science and technology.

This year, too, dozens of scientists and technicians have been selected as the best ones of ministries, national agencies and provinces for 2025. While acting as key developers of new technologies, they gained great ability and rich experience and performed remarkable sci-tech feats.

The best inventors, too, have increased greatly.

After four workers became the first to be chosen as the best inventors of the country for their extraordinary inventions conducive to the development of the country, such selection has been done on a regular basis and in a responsible manner every year, increasing the number of such inventors to scores in five years. Many of them are officials, including a two-time winner of Best Inventor Award.

National-level sci-tech talents, who can present sci-tech plans of key importance in the economic and sci-tech development of the country and play a leading role in implementing them, also continue to grow in number.
