The Canadian prime minister in a speech on September 8 made a stand that Canada would not yield in the trade conflict with the US.

As the US made unreasonable demands threatening the sovereignty of Canada and the core interests of its industry during the trade negotiations, the country decided to stop the negotiations and take countermeasures, he said.
