September 18, 2026

The extinction crisis of migratory birds is getting serious worldwide.

According to a research report published on September 11, 11 percent of over 1 840 species of migratory birds are on the verge of extinction and 45 percent of them are declining in number.

In addition, seven kinds of migratory birds have been confirmed or presumed completely extinct in the past 150 years.

The report said that climate change, environmental pollution, diseases, illegal hunting and deforestation are the main factors threatening the existence of migratory birds, stressing the need to take urgent measures to remove such threats and protect and multiply the birds.
