From the beginning of the year, the province took active measures to increase milk output, including the securing of milch goats and the improvement of nutrition of the animals and intensified the supervision and guidance of dairy production units so that they could improve the performance of equipment and fully ensure the hygienic safety of products.

Musan County overfulfilled its production plan by improving the performance of powdered milk production facilities.

Kim Chaek City and Hwadae County increased the number of milch cows and goats of good varieties and boosted the fattening rate of the animals and milk output by introducing rational breeding methods.

Kilju and Kyonghung counties carried out their powdered milk production plans ahead of schedule by paying close attention to the careful nutrition management of mother goats and strict anti-epizootic measures.

Puryong County which has favourable grassland conditions is carrying on the projects for building a powdered milk production base equipped with modern facilities and constructing blocks of buildings for the indoor breeding of hundreds of milch cows and goats.

Sinam District in Chongjin City and other areas paid primary attention to enhancing the role of technicians and skilled workers to improve the performance of powdered milk production facilities, thereby achieving good results.
