Election of deputies to State Duma held in Russia
September 30, 2026The election of deputies to the State Duma took place in Russia from September 18 to 20.
According to the chairman of the central election committee of Russia on September 25, the United Russia Party won 349 seats in the election and 40-odd participants in the special military operations were elected deputies to the State Duma.
Expressing thanks to the citizens who took an active part in the election, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the fact that a record number of people took part in the election to vote shows that the Russian people support the government’s efforts to strengthen the country.
He stressed that the Russian government should do everything in order to repay the trust expressed by the citizens in the election.
President Vladimir Putin took part in voting for the election of deputies to the State Duma online on September 18.
