Floral tribute paid to people’s heroes in China
October 5, 2026A ceremony was held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China, on September 30 to lay flower baskets at the Monument to the People’s Heroes to mark the memorial day for martyrs.
President Xi Jinping took part in the ceremony together with senior party and state officials and representatives of people from all social strata.
All the participants sang in chorus the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China to the accompaniment of music by the military band and paid a silent tribute to the memory of martyrs who valiantly dedicated their lives to the cause of liberation of the Chinese people and founding of the PRC.
Flower baskets were laid before the Monument to the People’s Heroes.
Written on the ribbons of the flower baskets were letters reading: “The people’s heroes will be immortal!”
Children and representatives of people from all walks of life also laid flowers at the monument.
President Xi and senior party and state officials looked round the Monument to the People’s Heroes.
