Premier Pak Thae Song inspects several sectors of national economy
October 7, 2026Premier Pak Thae Song, who is also member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, inspected various sectors of the national economy.
The premier visited the February 8 Jiktong Youth Coal Mine of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal-mining Complex and met and encouraged the coal miners who were working hard to increase coal production with a high sense of responsibility for taking an important part in coal production. He acquainted himself in detail with the production at the coal mine.
He said the coal mine should reinforce its tunnelling force to secure enough reserve coal fields, actively introduce efficient mining methods and equipment into the pit-face work and raise the enthusiasm for the mass movement so that all the coal miners turn out as one in the patriotic struggle for increased coal production.
Learning about the current production and modernization project of the Sunchon Engine Factory, he underscored the need to give priority to the quality improvement as required by the Party's policy, ensure the machining accuracy of parts so as to produce high-performance tractor engines and step up the design and construction on the principle of optimizing the production processes.
Meanwhile, Pak Thae Song inspected various farms in Ongjin, Kangnyong and Pyoksong counties of South Hwanghae Province and stressed the necessity to properly fix the time for harvesting according to fields and varieties and rationally allocate manpower and machines in order to finish the rice harvest and threshing in time so that the good crop situation of this year can lead to the actual yield.
Watching the wheat and barley sowing machine made by the Haeju Farm Machine Factory, he said it should produce and supply many different kinds of practical farm machines as the area of sowing wheat and barley increases in the whole country and late crop harvesting and early crop sowing are carried out simultaneously.
The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of ensuring that relevant units fully produce and supply rock drills, loaders and other equipment and tools necessary for mining work, the issue of actively generalizing advanced farming methods in the agricultural field and encouraging the cultivation of oil-bearing crops and sugar crops and others and took appropriate measures.
