A spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Tokyo urged Japan on October 1 to severely punish the one who illegally intruded into the embassy.

As regards the opening of the trial of the official in active service of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, who illegally intruded with a knife into the Chinese embassy in Japan, the spokesman said that this incident, which violated the sovereignty of China and seriously threatened the life and safety of the embassy members, reveals many problems in Japan including a lack of supervision and control of the SDF personnel.

He said that China will not accept any denial as the fact and evidence concerning the incident are obvious and clear.

China strongly demands Japan inflict severe punishment on the heinous criminal, fully uncover the truth, correct the mistake and produce responsible results, he stressed.
