Over the past 80-odd years since the days of nation building, the Workers' Party of Korea has achieved numerous changes and miracles and led the Korean people’s struggle to victory.

In retrospect, the cause of building the Party, the state and the army which was achieved from scratch after liberation, the victory won by the fledgling DPRK in the war against the imperialist allied forces in the 1950s, the postwar reconstruction, the cooperativization of agriculture which was done in a Korean way by breaking the existing formula, and the socialist industrialization which was completed in just 14 years—all these were changes and miracles unprecedented in history.

The Party has won only victories throughout its path which has never been smooth as it always reflected the will and demand of the people in its policy and it has dynamically advanced along the road of victory without any frustration or stagnation because it was motivated by the wisdom and strength of the people.

As it has led the revolution by dint of the will and strength of the people, all the work done by the Party turned into that of the people themselves and were carried out successfully.

The ideal it put forward in the initial days of its founding was the realization of the independence of the masses of the people and its mode was to believe in the people and rely on their strength.

Over the past 10-odd years when they were faced with a series of severe ordeals, the Korean people have greeted a new era of comprehensive development of socialism under the leadership of the Party.

All the policies put forward by the Party, such as the housing construction for the people, the rural revolution programme in the new era and the regional development policy for eliminating the centuries-old backwardness remaining in rural areas and regions and the childcare policy for the younger generation, were originated from the interests of the people and were directly linked with their life.

This has ushered in a new era of comprehensive development of the state, in which all people make efforts to produce the best results in their work by linking their destiny to their country’s and taking on the responsibility for the present and future of their state.

The Party’s struggle for realizing the people’s ideals has never stopped, and the greatest strength, the surest superiority and reserve strength, which it relies on in achieving the goals of its struggle is the extraordinary political consciousness and courageous efforts of all the people who are united in patriotism.

Thanks to the leadership of the WPK, the Korean people are bringing about changes and miracles and translating into reality everything they desire.
