Women's ice hockey match played to mark 81st founding anniversary of WPK
October 11, 2026A women's ice hockey match between the Taesongsan and Pyongyang Railway Bureau teams took place at the Ice Rink in Pyongyang on October 9 to mark the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Among the spectators were Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and other senior Party and government officials, leading officials of sports events sponsoring organizations, labour innovators, meritorious sportspersons, teachers and researchers of Party cadre training institutions and Pyongyang citizens.
That day the Taesongsan team beat the rival 3-1.
The match added to the festive mood of the people celebrating the Party’s founding anniversary.
