Under the guidance and with the assistance of the commission, the researchers of the National Standardization Institute and the garment institute of the Academy of Food and Consumer Goods Industries under the Ministry of Regional Industry intensified the study of the national standards applied to garments in the past and the constitutional characters of the Korean people and examined their correlation with international standards, contributing to establishing new national standards of garments.

The State Commission of Science and Technology also pushes ahead with the updating of the standards of footwear in cooperation with the footwear institute of the Ministry of Light Industry.

Many units also pay close attention to standardizing their products.
