The DPRK Championships, which opened on September 22, are going on, attracting keen interest from many people.

First-division men’s soccer tournament

At the time when all teams played two matches in the first-division men's football tournament, the Sonbong team scored 10 goals, but the Pyongyang and Wolmido teams made only one goal respectively.

The Pyongyang and Wolmido drew 0-0 in the third match, failing to quench their “thirst” for more goals.

First-division women’s soccer tournament

The first-division women’s football tournament gets fiercer with the passage of time.

Though it conceded a goal first in the match with the Hwaeppul team, the Sobaeksu scored four goals by destroying the stout defence of the rival team to win the match again.    

After seesaw battles, the Jebi defeated the Wolmido 3-2 and the Kalmaegi won the match with the Rimyongsu 1-0. The Jebi also beat the Kalmaegi 2-0. 

Rowing and canoe

The sports events drew the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport, Piryugang and several other sports clubs across the country.

The players displayed their high physical and technical abilities from the beginning in the races, establishing higher records than before.

Those of the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport Sports Club distinguished themselves in the LM4, W2X and LW4 which took place on the first day.

With the canoe races taking place in several categories, the players of the Ministry of Land and Maritime Transport Sports Club and the Piryugang Sports Club set high records in kayak and canoe held on the first day.
