Russian presidential press secretary censures Europe for clinging to militarization
October 14, 2026Russian presidential press secretary Dmitri Peskov denounced European countries’ moves to militarize themselves at a press conference on October 7.
Asserting that European countries are engrossed in a programme for militarization on the basis of an idea of confrontation with Russia, he said that it is a “blind alley” bringing bad results.
He mentioned that as the French president had said, France’s test-fire of strategic ballistic missiles is regarded as a “powerful and obvious signal” to Russia.
He emphasized that Russia is taking all measures for ensuring security and watching the situation without relaxing its vigilance as Europe is being militarized and is uttering aggressive remarks.
On October 6, France test-fired strategic ballistic missiles from a nuclear submarine, escalating the military tension in the continent again.
