Respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited Kim Il Sung University on the occasion of its 80th founding anniversary to make a speech, see a performance together with its officials, teaching staff and students and have a photo session with them.

The officials, teaching staff and students of the university, who celebrated its 80th founding anniversary in the presence of the respected General Secretary, are burning with the determination to repay his favour.

Kim Chol Ung, PhD, associate professor and director of the Catalytic Chemistry Institute of the Chemistry Faculty, said that he is quite anxious as he fails to live up to the high expectations of the respected General Secretary and that he will devote his sincerity and redoubled efforts to education and scientific work with fresh determination.

Recalling that the respected General Secretary said in his speech that before being recognized by the world in terms of any certain indexes or items, the university should naturally be appreciated by the country and the people for its true and sound educational courses and the successes resulting from them, and its position should be verified by them, Kim Song Mu, PhD and section chief of the Nano Materials Institute of the Materials Science Faculty of the university, said, “In order to produce genuine patriots who will make strenuous efforts for the country and the people, true servants who will faithfully support the country, I will make devoted efforts with clear conscience as an educator to train the best revolutionary talents.”

All the educators of the university, including elder professors and lecturers and researchers of the new generation, are firmly determined to glorify its dignity and reputation by putting spurs to education and scientific research with their successes and actual results as a new starting point so as to be able to compete with the world.

This is not confined to the educators alone.

Kim Jin Sim, a student of the Faculty of Korean Linguistics, said that she would repay the trust of respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who called the students of the university “Dear students of Kim Il Sung University”, with fine academic achievements. Hwang Yong Jin, a student of the Law Faculty, expressed his determination to set an example in making the trait and habit of being faithful to the Constitution of the DPRK and moral obligation prevail in the campus, bearing deep in mind the General Secretary’s instruction that the discipline of Kim Il Sung University is directly linked with the national trait.

The students of any faculty or course of the university say in unison that with the faith that the country’s competitor is the world and the masters of the competition with the world are the students of the university, they will exert themselves so as to proudly demonstrate its dignity and honour.

The officials, lecturers, researchers and students of the university, who received the General Secretary’s encouragement and trust on the occasion of its birthday, are now working hard day and night with a mind to repay his favour.
