The Russian permanent representative to the United Nations, at a meeting of the UN Security Council on October 9, criticized Ukraine and the West for their despicable attempt at shifting their responsibility onto others.

Saying that the escalated tension in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov was caused by Ukraine's reckless acts, he stated that the attempt to shift its responsibility onto Russia was an undisguised political gamble and it could not cover up the consequences entailed by Zelenskiy's adventure.

Russia does not strike at peaceful vessels, he said, adding that the vicious cycle of escalated tension is directly attributable to Kiev’s opening of Pandora’s box.

Europeans also keep mum about Ukraine’s attacks on civilian ships though they say they are "worried about the starving people", he said.
