On October 17 2022, respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the highest institution for training Party cadres.

His visit to the school was a historic event of profound significance.

October 17 1926 was the day when the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) was formed.

The formation of the DIU a hundred years ago was a historic declaration heralding the new start of the Korean revolution and a starting point in the struggle for founding a new-type party, a Juche-type revolutionary party in Korea.

The first-generation Korean revolutionaries, who formed the DIU, were genuine revolutionaries who embodied boundless loyalty to great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, transparent revolutionary faith, indomitable fighting spirit and the spirit of devoted service for the people at the highest level and devoted themselves to realizing the ideal towards a socialist and communist society.

Their revolutionary spirit and noble soul has served as an inexhaustible source of sustenance for bringing up the people of the later generations into true fighters and communists and as the mental mainstay of the 80-odd-year ruling history of the WPK shining with victory and glory.

That is why the respected General Secretary’s visit to the Central Cadres Training School reflected his firm intention that genuine officials inheriting the Party’s original ideals and spirit in a pure, perfect and thorough way should be trained there.

That day, he gave the school teaching staff and students a commemorative lecture, titled “On the Orientation of the Building of Our Party in the New Era and the Tasks of the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers’ Party of Korea”.

In the lecture, he referred to the glorious course of the school which was born under the care of President Kim Il Sung and has contributed to accomplishing the cause of the Party in the annals of the revolution. He comprehensively enunciated the successes achieved by the Party in the course of its development over the past decade, the orientation of Party building in the new era and the tasks and ways for innovating the school work.

In particular, the orientation of Party building in the new era clarified by the respected General Secretary is of great significance in the strengthening and development of the Party.

The orientation of Party building in the new era is, in a nutshell, the political, organizational, ideological, discipline and work-style building. In other words, it is aimed at developing the WPK into a party that is politically mature, organizationally sound, ideologically pure, strictly disciplined and healthy in work style.

It was defined as the Party’s line at the enlarged meeting of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK held in December 2022.

The comprehensive clarification of the principled issues for consolidating the organizational and ideological foundations of the Party to the full and further strengthening the Party into a powerful political general staff of the revolution, an elite, iron-willed vanguard and a genuine motherly party provided a powerful weapon for steadily strengthening and developing the WPK into a promising party.
