Russian President refers to cooperation between CIS member nations
October 17, 2026Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to the issue of cooperation between the member nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States on October 9.
Pointing to the need to preserve the common history, he said that the young people of the CIS member nations should know about the exploits performed by the people in the period of the Soviet Union.
The primary field of cooperation within the CIS is the economic field, he said, adding that the commonwealth can achieve greater successes if it takes the road of removing trade barriers.
He said that it is a very urgent task to make the CIS show its positive appearance in the international arena, stressing that its member states unanimously insist on the formation of a multipolar world based on the recognized principles of international law.
