People’s interest in and attachment to ornamental plants grow day by day as they add fragrance and emotion to life.

Many people visit the ornamental plant shop of the Central Botanical Garden.

According to assistant Kim Hyang Mi, the shop has hundreds of ornamental plants in dozens of kinds.

The outdoor section of the shop is very conspicuous.

The ornamentals are exhibited in good harmony with the outdoor environment thick with foliage.

Visitors say that the section reminds them of a refreshing forest as such tall trees as cycas and waringins are arranged attractively.

It is impressive to see the low-stature flowering plants lying in layers on the unique flowerpot stand, which was set up by using a decades-old tree standing in the middle of the outdoor section, and shoals of fish swimming leisurely in a small artificial pond.

“I frequently visit this shop. I feel refreshing and relaxed unknowingly as I admire the flowering plants displayed in the pleasantly cool open air,” said Jo Un Yong living in Taesong District, Pyongyang.

The shop assistants provide customers with excellent service with a profound knowledge of flowering plants.

“Many residents of Hwasong Street visit the shop to decorate their homes and workplaces with flowering plants. I have also come here several times and every time I admire the assistants’ ready and clear answers to customers’ questions. I have learned a lot here,” said a woman from newly built Hwasong Street.

Kim Hyang Mi, who appeared on TV programmes on the theme of floriculture several times, said she would provide customers with better service to contribute to enriching their cultural and emotional life.
