The feats performed by the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers are also recorded in the history of the DPRK-China friendship with long historical roots.

On October 25 1950, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government and people dispatched their excellent sons and daughters to the Korean front even in the difficult situation in the early days of building a new China.

The militant friendship between the revolutionaries and other peoples of the two countries grew stronger during the Fatherland Liberation War of the DPRK people to repulse the invasion by the US imperialists.

The brave fighters of the Chinese People’s Volunteers, who entered the Korean war under the banner of “Resisting America and aiding Korea, protecting the home and defending the motherland”, displayed matchless bravery and mass heroism in close cooperation with the units of the Korean People’s Army in many battles and operations including the battle on Lake Jangjin, the operation around the Chongchon River and the battle on Sanggam Pass.

They devoted their lives without hesitation to defend the heights and villages of the DPRK with the mind of protecting those of their country. Mao Anying, son of Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong, volunteered to fight on the Korean front and fell in action. Hero Huang Jiguang, another CPV fighter, blocked the enemy’s gun muzzle with his chest to ensure the victory of his unit in the battle on Sanggam Pass. 

During the war, the peoples and soldiers of the DPRK and China cared for each other with the feeling of kinship, displaying the beautiful traits of amity and friendship.

The Friendship Tower and the cemetery and graves of martyrs of the Chinese People’s Volunteers in the DPRK convey forever the immortal services and heroic feats performed by the excellent sons and daughters of the Chinese people by displaying their noble internationalist obligation and unparalleled self-sacrificing spirit.

At present the DPRK-China friendly relations forged in the course of the bloody struggle for realizing the common ideal have entered a new phase of development under the deep concern of the top leaders of the two countries.

The historic meetings and talks between respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Comrade Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China, served as the historic occasions that further boosted the political trust and strategic cooperation between the two parties and countries and demonstrated the immutability and invincibility of the DPRK-China friendly bonds.

The DPRK-China friendly and cooperative ties are a strategic choice and precious common asset of the two parties and the peoples of the two countries and are making a great contribution to firmly defending the sovereignty, security and development interests of the two countries and safeguarding peace and stability in the region and the rest of the world under the complicated international situation.
