Russian presidential press secretary Dmitri Peskov at a press conference on October 20 condemned the European Union for trying to turn the Arctic into a theatre of antagonism and confrontation.

Shortly ago, the EU foreign policy chief bragged that the EU is making preparations to cope with Russia and China in the Arctic.

In this regard, the press secretary noted that Russia is maintaining that the Arctic should be made a field of mutually beneficial cooperation between countries, not an arena of antagonism and confrontation, and that this should be settled through dialogue.

But the West keeps closed the door to dialogue and the EU foreign policy chief has repeatedly said that he opposes all kinds of dialogue related to the Arctic, he denounced.
