A meeting of the council of heads of government of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on October 19-20.

It was attended by heads of government and representatives of SCO member states including Russia, China and Kazakhstan.

The participants in the meeting said that the SCO has been steadily expanded and strengthened over the past 25 years since its establishment and its international influence is growing every day, adding that they should enhance mutual understanding and cooperation and give impetus to the high qualitative development of the organization and thus make a greater contribution to regional and global peace and development.

The meeting discussed the issues of putting efforts into steadily promoting cooperation in the economy, trade, industry, energy, finance, investment, agriculture, high-tech and other fields.

A joint communique was issued at the end of the meeting and documents on many-sided cooperation between member states were adopted.
