General Secretary Kim Jong Un’s Revolutionary Activities

The outstanding leadership of the ever-victorious Workers' Party of Korea leading the sacred and historic cause of building a rich country with a strong army to great victory and steady prosperity is ushering in an era of radical development of national defence, the greatest heyday of the military muscle of the DPRK when the absolute strength of our state and people is proudly put on the highest peak of the world.

The exhibition Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Development-2026 was held with splendour on October 29, adding another brilliant page to the history of the struggle for steadily boosting the modernity and military and technological strength of the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

On display at the exhibition were combat systems showing the latest achievements made in the field of unmanned aeronautical technology and the prospect of its development, including various kinds of strategic and operational and tactical multi-purpose drones and suicide attack drones.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

He was greeted courteously by leading officials in the field of the munitions industry and the Ministry of National Defence.

All the participants paid the highest tribute to Comrade Kim Jong Un, the ever-victorious, iron-willed brilliant commander who has illuminated the clear path to the modernization of the armed forces with his outstanding military strategic ideas, far-sighted wisdom and energetic leadership and vigorously guided the efforts for putting the military and technological might of our army on the highest level.

Present there were secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK, other members of the Party central leadership, leading officials of the Party Central Committee, senior officials of the Party committees of the Cabinet, commissions and ministries, scientists, technicians and meritorious persons in the field of the munitions industry, commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence and services and corps of the Korean People's Army, division and brigade commanders of the entire army, and teachers and researchers of military educational and scientific research institutes at all levels and major universities.

The national anthem of the DPRK was played solemnly.

Jo Chun Ryong, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the WPK Central Committee, made a speech at the commemorative event.

The current exhibition is an aggregate of the achievements recently made in the course of carrying out the Party Central Committee's policy on developing the unmanned and intelligent combat systems of our own style, he said, introducing various kinds of drones newly developed in the field of the unmanned aeronautical industry.

Comrade Kim Jong Un made an important speech of historic significance.

He expressed great satisfaction as he referred to the significance of the exhibition intuitively showing the development potential in the field of unmanned aeronautical technology, a key component in the military strength of the state.

Saying that to aim to achieve absolute superiority in the drone technology field is an indispensable option conforming to the changing aspects of modern warfare, he announced the WPK's national defence development strategy for rapidly expanding and strengthening the unmanned aeronautical technology and the important state measures for its implementation.

He stressed: Peace and strength are inseparably related to each other. The price of peace cannot be expressed by figures and therefore even rich countries cannot defend peace with money. Strength precisely means peace and peace is guaranteed only by strength. This is common sense that is needed to survive in the present bustling world. The scientists of our country should go all out for producing miraculous results also in the fields of unmanned aeronautical technology and AI for national defence, as we have had the function as a nuclear weapons state and made new leaps forward in upgrading the conventional forces.

The senior officials of the Party, government and national defence organs and all those from educational and scientific institutions fervently supported the great historic programme for national defence development set forth by Comrade Kim Jong Un, and firmly pledged to faithfully carry into practice the plan and decision of the Party Central Committee for reliably defending the security, wellbeing, independent dignity and development environment of the country and its people by dint of absolute power.

Watching the unmanned combat systems on display, he stressed once again the importance and military significance of the development of unmanned aeronautical technology in developing the DPRK's armed forces into the ultra-modern, elite army corresponding with modern warfare.

Given the development trend of the present reality in which unmanned weapons and equipment have emerged as the main assets for military activities in war and the scope of their use is expanding with each passing day, it is needed to take it as a top-priority task in building modern armed forces to highly develop the key technologies in this field, put unmanned weapon systems on an AI basis and drastically improve their operational ability, he stressed.

The defence science research field should as ever accelerate the important change for the bolstering of the military muscle by boosting the armed forces of our Republic and achieving sustained and unparalleled progress in the self-reliant defence industry strongly supporting the armed forces, he said, underlining the need to push ahead with the steady enhancement of their strategic position and role completely in our own way with the goal of reaching the level at which they can outpace the world.

The participants looked round the exhibition hall with pride, realizing the epochal development of the country’s defence science.

Then various drones and major weapon systems demonstrated their power in commemoration of the exhibition.

The demonstration included the launching of various tactical suicide attack drones and tactical cruise missiles, air raid by multi-purpose drones and firing by a 600mm-calibre multiple rocket launcher battalion.

Tactical suicide attack drones, air-to-ground missiles launched from multi-purpose drones and cruise missiles hit an islet target with 100 percent accuracy.

The 600mm-calibre ultra-precision multiple rocket launcher, which is called the "sniper", opened fire before the public for the first time.

Witnessing the great power of the core strategic weapon system of the DPRK, the one and only weapon system in the world, all the participants enthusiastically applauded with great pride.

The creditability and effectiveness of all the major weapon systems were successfully verified.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed once again the unshakable and immutable will of the WPK and the DPRK government to further build up the most powerful and righteous war deterrent in order to firmly defend the security of the country, the peaceful life of the people and the development environment of socialism.

The exhibition will give a greater impetus to the development of the defence capabilities of the country setting its sight on building the most powerful army in the world and give greater confidence and courage to the people throughout the country who are all out in the historic struggle to implement the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the WPK.
